We are pleased to have worked with Edge Digital and Reading Cinemas to open the new Reading Cinema Miller junction – Altona North.
The new six screen complex will be the first Reading Cinema in Western Melbourne to feature full recliner seating in all auditoriums. A brand-new Premium offering with enhanced food and beverage will showcase Reading Cinemas Millers Junction as the Gold standard in Australia.
The complex has two TITAN LUXE auditoriums with Dolby Atmos, 20-metre-wide screens and 4 premium auditoriums with the latest Digital Projection equipment and sound – providing an unparalleled theatrical experience for their customers.
Specialty Group was excited and extremely proud to help Readings Cinema deliver a New state of the art cinema complex.
We were happy to supply and install many of the items that went into the cinema complex. Including:
- Steel Free standing floating screen frame designed which incorporates speaker shells which incorporate Servicing access.
- Top movable Masking systems, which incorporate two stops, cinemascope and widescreen positions. The masking Systems incorporated an Acoustic transparent, light soaking – Inherently fire retardant with straight leading-edge design.
- Acoustic side wall curtains. For the enhancement of sound in their auditoriums. These curtains are made from 420 GSM wool, 80% fullness (on wall weight 760GSM), IFR (Inherently fire retardant) AS1530.2 and 3 Group 2, VOC (volatile organic compounds.” These gases are released from numerous products and building materials through a process called off-gassing. VOCs are an often-overlooked aspect of indoor air quality and may be responsible for a wide variety of adverse health effects.)
- Projection ports – bootless design system NFR (Non-Fire Rated) with Optical Glass
- Installation of speaker system in the auditoriums (Surround and stage end), including the in-room sub-bass and ATMOS Systems.
- Installation of the screen surfaces
- Acoustics Insulation for behind screens
